Zipline has delivered 79,800 products so far-Okoe Boye

Deputy Health Minister Dr. Okoe Boye has disclosed before parliament that Zipline has delivered 79,800 products to health facilities within its service range.

Answering parliamentary question today, Wednesday, the deputy minister revealed that as at end of June 2020, Zipline has delivered a total of 79,800 products to 925 health facilities within its service range, out of which 47,100 were life- saving medical products, 31,400 were vaccines and 1,264 were blood products.

He said Zipline is operating from all the four distribution centers at Omenako, in the Eastern region, Mpanya in the Ashanti region, Vobsi in the Northern region, and Sefwi Wiaso in the Western North region.

He also disclosed that since May 2020, Zipline has delivered 2,572 COVID-19 samples to the Noguchi Institute for Medical Research and Kumasi Center for collaboration Research, which have helped health professionals in the discharge of their work.

He said the deliveries by Zipline has given health workers the peace of mind in the management of patients in the theater and labour wards and hospitals in general with the availability of blood and emergency medicines within few minutes of requests.

The signed service agreement for the emergency delivery of blood and health products to selected public health facilities between the ministry of health and Fly Zipline Ghana Ltd was approved by Parliament on Tuesday,11th December 2018 has given communities confidence level in health care delivery, particularly for facilities within the Zipline service range.
