You failed to apply wisdom in implementing free SHS-Mahama jabs

The presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has taken a swipe at the ruling government saying they failed to apply wisdom in implementing the free Senior High School policy.

Resuming his campaign tour of the Bono Region, the former president said wisdom should have guided the ruling government in knowing that infrastructure was a key component of the policy.

He argued the government should have embarked on a massive expansion of infrastructure in existing secondary schools as well as construct new ones as the number of persons who benefitted from the policy would increase annually.

This, the NPP government failed to do, leading to the introduction of the double-track system which has led to some students getting pregnant and others engaging other social vices, he said.

Describing the policy is a great initiative, he promised to enhance it by phasing out the double-track systems.

The new NDC administration will invest in a new school infrastructure agenda and also complete all the 200 community day schools it embarked on when they were in office.

He reiterated the NDC will also extend the policy to cover private schools.
