The evening which was also the first game of the season after the Aduana Stars and Hearts Of Oak game, scheduled to be the first game of the season, was postponed due to measures beyond the FA’s control.

It was the visitors who scored the first goal after captain Stephen Amankona beautifully sent Fatawu Dauda the wrong way from twelve yards in the 2nd minute of the game.

Twelve minutes later, Baba Mahama, was brought down in the opposition area, and the centre the referee had no option than to point to the spot

Meadeama, as most pundits predicted to win this year’s premier league, got held by the wonder cub of Ghana, Accra Great Olympics.

The 1-1 draw comes as a disappointment for the Tarkwa based club as they would have to come back stronger on matchday two.

Alhaji Grusah’s King Faisal nearly defied all odds to get a respectable outcome at Sogakope, but, WAFA popularly noted for displaying quality football ensured to keep all three-point at home 4-3, King Faisal had some positives from the game.
