Woman arrested for allegedly poisoning her two children
The Tema Regional Police Command has arrested A 28-year-old woman has for allegedly confessing to killing her two children with rat poison.
According to reports, the two children aged, two and one-year-old died in their sleep after the concoction had been administered to them on Wednesday evening.
Residents in the area attempted lynching the woman after she confessed to killing the children.
It took the intervention of the police to rescue her.
Crime Officer for Tema Harbour ACP Frimpong Kissi speaking to Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, indicated the woman told them she took the children hospital after they took ill last week and were medicated.
The woman told the police she administered the drug she was given from the hospital but realised they were moving on Thursday and so she went to her mother to narrate to her but when they visited, they discovered the children were not breathing.
The police were then informed about the incident and when the children were sent to the hospital, it was discovered that they were dead.
Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the morgue and the suspect is in police custody.
