We’ve brought situation created by Western Togoland group under control-Security Forces

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) and the Ghana Police Service (GPS) have through a joint statement said they have brought under control the activities of the Homeland Study Group Foundation (HSGF) which occurred at dawn of Friday 25 September 2020.

The situation covered the general area of Juapong, Sogakope, Aveyime, Mepe and Akuse.

But the statement has assured the general public that the situation has since been brought under control.

The statement which was signed by the Public Relations Directorate of the two services noted that all the roadblocks on the affected areas in the Volta Region have been cleared with the security forces taking control of the installation s in the region..

“All the roadblocks have also been cleared and the security agencies have taken control of the highways and strategic installations within the Region. It is hereby stated that an earlier pre-emptive operation on Thursday 24 September 2020, foiled a plan by the Group to burn the Ho Central Market and other key installations.”
