Ghanaian local traders at Abossey Okai spare parts market on Wednesday morning locked-up shops of their Nigerian counterparts.
The Ghanaian traders insist the laws of Ghana do not allow foreigners to engage in retail trade, reason for their actions.
Mr. Siaw Ampadu, the Chairman of the traders association expressed disappointment in the current6 administration for failing to handle their concerns.
He said the traders will advise themselves should the government frail to clear all foreigners engaging in retail business before December 7, 2020
He also accuse the Nigerians of selling substandard products at cheap prices, a practice the Ghanaian traders say is killing their business.
He bemoaned unequal to trading space as they claim the Nigerians have enough money to pay for any amount charged by shop owners.
He warned the local traders will continue to lock shops of the foreigners until the issues are addressed.
