Captain of the Ghana National Amputee team, Richard Arthur Opentil, has appealed to President Akufo-Addo to offer team members accommodation.
When asked about what they are expecting from the president to give them for wining the 2021 Amputee African Cup, he said a lot of the players in the team find it very difficult to rent.
Opintel said they will be very glad if the president is able to reward them by getting them accommodation because some of them perch in rooms with their friends
He was speaking with Isaac Worlanyo Wallace on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm.
He further said they will love to present the cup to the president as his Christmas gift and they were also ready to accept any punishment that the federation wants to give them for breaching the laws to participate in the competition.
He explained that they had to compete in the African championship because it serves as the qualification for the Amputee World cup that will be held very soon in Turkey.
Ghana’s amputee team on Saturday emerged winners of the 2021 Amputee African Cup of Nations hosted in Tanzania.
The team defeated Liberia 3-2 in the final at the Benjamin Mkapa stadium on Saturday.
Ahead of the finals, the Black Challenges defeated Egypt 3-0, defeated Nigeria 4-0 in the quarterfinal.
The team had a perfect score after defeating Angola 3-1 in the semi-final.
