We cannot allow NDC to experiment with presidency-Nana Addo to NPP
President Akufo-Addo has said the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) must not allow the NDC to come back and use the presidency as an experiment because they will destroy the gains made.
He indicated the party must work hard to sustain the victory of the NPP so they continue managing and building a resilient economy.
He expressed his gratitude to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the trust reposed in him to represent it as the candidate for the 2020 polls.
He said he will not disappoint the party and will give them a resounding victory in the 2020 presidential election come December 7, 2020.
The president made the remarks after he was acclaimed and outdoored on Saturday, June 27, 2020, expressed strong optimism of victory for the party.
He promised to lead Ghanaians with dedication should he be retained as president of the republic.
He noted that the NPP’s agenda is to create wealth for every single Ghanaian and not just a few.
He said the NPP must not stray from its guiding principles of wealth creation for every Ghanaian.
The president said the NPP has demonstrated beyond any shadow of doubt that their competence to manage the economy although there is much more to be done.
To him, the NPP is investing in the future of Ghana in the best interest of every home.
He opined every constituency in Ghana has received their fair share of development since the NPP took over the management of the country.
“Every constituency has seen the provision of basic infrastructure in various communities”.
The NPP he said owe it to Ghana to be different in managing Ghana’s economy.
“In spite of the abysmal nature of the economy we inherited, we can be proud of what we’ve been able to achieve in the last three years”, the president said.
According to the president, “Investment in agriculture will soon make Ghana self-sufficient in food production”.
Touching on the outbreak of the coronavirus, the president said the outbreak has exposed some vulnerability including inadequate health infrastructure and we [NPP] are working to fix that, he added.
He admonished all the parliamentary aspirants who lost their seats in the primaries to put the defeat behind them and join the efforts by the party to win the 2020 general elections.
The NPP he stressed must win the polls because they are the only party that grows the economy whereas the NDC shrinks it.
The NPP he added must win the polls decisively to allow them complete their development agenda.
The acclamation of the Presidential Candidate together with his Running Mate will be done at a special meeting by the party’s National Council at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.
