Veep cuts sod for the construction of the 88-kilometer Hohoe-Jasikan to Dodo Pepesu roads
The Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has cut sod for construction works on the 88-kilometer Hohoe-Jasikan to Dodo Pepesu stretch of the Eastern Corridor Road to commence.
He noted that of all the critical roads listed for the 16 regions in the 2020 budget, Hohoe-Jasikan and Jasikan-Dodopepesu are the only roads for which work has commenced. Contractors for both projects mobilized to site two weeks before the 2020 budget was read.
According to him, the Jasikan-Dodopepesu road forms part of Phase 1 of the $2billion Government of Ghana/Sinohydro Master Project Agreement.
He also assured residents of the Oti Region that the government would ensure the project is completed on schedule, and they would receive their fair share of development projects as all regions shall be receiving.
He reiterated the government’s plan of fixing all critical roads in the country. Sods will be cut for the Cape Coast inner city roads and Nyinahini area roads within this week under the government of Ghana-Sinohydro infrastructure for the Bauxite facility. The rest of the other approved lots are expected to be undertaken soon.
