‘There’s is no female artiste that can compare herself to me’-A.K Songstress

Ghanaian musician A.K Songstress who is originally known as Akosua Kwakye as said there is no female artiste who is doing her style of music.

The dancehall artiste who shot to the scene with her ‘Empress’ banger believes there has not been any artiste from the days she released this song till date that compare her craft to hers.

A.K Songstress describing her style of music as unique felt her style of music brought some level of attention to her after releasing her first banger.

The song she told Sokoohemaa gave her a status and some amount of money.

Despite the challenges female musicians go through, A.K Songstress says she remains relevant and stronger than before.

For new female artistes to breakthrough, it is a bit challenging because the people you are hopeful would be of help are unwilling to help.

When asked if she was ready to beef any female artiste, the musician responded saying there is no female artiste who has reached her level when it comes to dancehall.

She said ”I want to only beef male dancehall artiste because I don’t see any female dancehall artiste who has reached my level”.

Ak Songstress is the first female to ever win the ‘Discovery of the Year for Dancehall/Reggae Artiste’ at the 2014 BASS Awards in the midst of male contenders.

The highlight of her career was the collaboration with dancehall legend Sizzla Kalonji.

She is a firm believer in the principles of Reincarnation and Karma and as such, she stands for purity, goodness and oneness. She loves animals especially snakes.
