There was no match-fixing, we played competitively-Ashanti Gold
Ghana Premier League club Ashanti Gold has denied claims of match-fixing in their game against Inter Allies.
The club said it played a competitive game hence the allegations against them are unfortunate.
A video of the match has gone viral with people raising eyebrows over how their opponent conceded goals.
But Ashanti Gold says the match was not fixed as some have stated.
“We take notice of the videos circulating in relation to our game against Inter Allies and wish to unequivocally disassociate [ourselves] from any wrongdoing. AshantiGold played competitively in the entire duration of the game, with our players scoring five great goals through hard work and team effort in the 15th, 26th, 42nd, 49th and 77th minutes respectively,” the club’s statement said.
“We have no idea as to why the opponents’ player scored two own goals”
