The boy who scored 8As scammed by journalists?

It has emerged that the 18-year-old boy who scored 8As in the 2020 West African Certificate examination has been defrauded by some self-styled journalists.

The graduate Thomas Amoani has received a full scholarship following a directive from President Akufo-Addo.

The 18-year-old smart and intelligent boy who attended Adeiso Presbyterian Senior High School passed the 2020 West African Certificate examination with flying colours.

He has gained national attention with the CEO of Kingdom Herbal and Unique Kingdom Communication Limited, Jonathan Kwame Amofa also offering him a full scholarship aside from the one from the president.

But the management of the school has informed Rainbow Radio’s Prince Collins Bening that some journalists came to the school and offered to use their platform to solicit funds for him.

The said journalists reportedly took the mobile money number of the boy claiming they will launch a support fund for people to donate into his account.

However, they later changed the number and used theirs, allegedly posted it on social media with the photos of the boy, and kept the donation.

The management told our reporter that they have gathered the journalists raised over GHc5,000.

They have therefore launched a search for the journalists.

Master Amoani scored straight 8A’s in all the core and elective subjects he sat for including English Langauge, Core Mathematics, Social Studies, Integrated Science, Economics, Geography, Elective Mathematics, and Government.
