‘Story of thieves ransacking Legon Cities & Berekum Chelsea team buses, not true’-NSA
The Director-General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Prof. Peter Twumasi, says his outfit has not received an official report on the alleged ransacking of Legon Cities and Berekum Chelsea team buses..
Media reports have it that some robbers raided the dressing rooms of both Legon Cities and Berekum Chelsea while the opening match of the season was underway on Saturday night.
The said robbery reportedly took place even though the government had ordered for matches in the league to be played behind closed doors.
But the NSA boss wondered how robbers invaded the stadium when there was enough police personnel at the post during the match.
According to him, he has not been officially briefed on the issue.
Prof. Twumesi indicated the reported story was strange because there was no evidence to prove that there was such a robbery.
He explained the stories surrounding the said robbery has no substance because after the teams were engaged, they had no solid story to tell.
He said the key driver of the buses of the two teams who were in the buses when the said incident occurred should be questioned.
He asked the teams to come forward with any hardcore evidence to buttress their claims.
