Samuel Takyi lacks what it takes to go professional as a boxer-Joshua Clottey
Ghanaian boxer Joshua Clottey has advised Ghanaian boxer Samuel Takyi not to be deceived to move into professional boxing.
Joshua Clottey says the boxer who won bronze at the Olympics has no experience in amateur boxing for him to move to professional boxing.
Speaking exclusively on Rainbow Sports, he said although the boxer won bronze at the Olympics, he has not got what it takes to be a professional boxer.
Joshua Clottey advised him to keep on fighting in the amateur category, gain the needed experience, and for professional boxing.
He said some boxers have won over 400 amateur fights before moving to professional boxing.
“If he wants to move to professional boxing, we wish him well, but my advice to him is that he is not yet experienced. He has no amateur experience. He should not move to professional boxing. He does not have what it takes for professional boxing.”
He added the boxer must be disciplined, dedicated, and not disrespect people because he won a bronze at the Olympics.
“In this boxing game, if you want a title, you must be disciplined and respectful. If you disrespect people because you have won bronze, you will not go far. Be disciplined, respectful and you will go far.”
