Queen’s Barton Relay to arrive in Ghana on October 25

Chairman of Games Camp Committee for Commonwealth games, President of Taekwondo Federation, and 1st Vice-Chairman of Ghana Olympic Committee(GOC), Frederick Otoo Lartey, has disclosed that the Queen’s Bartons will arrive in Ghana on October 25, 2021.

According to him, the Queen’s Barton was launch on October 7 by Queen Elizabeth, and Ghana will be the 6th country to see the Barton.

“The Barton first went to Cyprus and will be followed by Malta, Nigeria, Gambia, Sierra Leone, and Ghana”, he said.

“The Commonwealth secretariat has trained a Barton Manager, to ensure all the covid protocols, that there is no incident of covid breakout afterwards”, he said.

He disclosed this in an interview with Isaac Worlanyo Wallace on Rainbow radio when he was asked about the arrangement of the Queen’s Barton.

He added that the committee would first visit the President of Ghana with the Barton on 26th October.

He continued that GOC will help the various national federations financially so that they get the right people to compete for more medals.

He further encapsulated on corporate bodies to come on board to help the federations.
