Police places Ghc10,000 on persons who attacked & vandalised Radio Ada
The Ghana Police Service has placed a Ghc10,000 reward for anyone who would provide credible information that will lead to the arrest of the suspects who vandalised Radio Ada, a community radio station last week.
It has also urged the staff of Radio Ada, people of Big Ada and the general public to remain calm as the service continue with investigations into the attack which occurred on Thursday, January 13, 2022.
The community radio station was attacked by by a group of eight men today, Thursday, 13th January 2022 at about 11:30 a.m.
The attackers, one of whom was armed with a pistol, invaded the on-air studio by forcibly destroying its door open, the management confirmed in a statement.
The attackers alleged beat up the presenter and vandalised the on-air studio equipment, leading to the temporary shut-down of Radio Ada.
Asked from the attack on the presenter, two other radio staff and visitors were also held hostage by the attackers.
According to management, “the attackers openly declared that they had come to vandalise the station because of its Manor Munyu and other programmes discussing the recent developments in the Songor. They threatened to inflict further havoc should the station continue with programmes on the Songor.”
