Pay us our allawa or we will strike-Rotational Nurses

The Coalition of Rotational Nurses and Midwives has threatened that its members will lay down their tools and embark on a strike.

The Coalition says they have decided to strike following the non-payment of allowances.

According to them, their allowances have not been paid since they began their mandatory one-year national service in February 2021.

The health workers lament that the situation has brought untold hardship, hence their decision to strike.

Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, President of the Coalition, Wutor Cosmos Venunye said they have worked for several months without their allowances.

He noted that since February,, they have not been paid despite working full time nurses.

He indicated that they have been engaging the government over the past ten months but nothing has worked.

The Coalition is a group of rotation nurses and midwives recruited by the government after training to do a year-long mandatory service.
