Okaikwei North Assembly inaugurates 42 Market Sheds at Kisseman

The Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly has inaugurated a 42 market sheds for traders at the Kisseman today, October 7, 2020.

The project is the completion of phase one market projects undertaken by the assembly.

At the inauguration ceremony today, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr. Nii Boye Laryea said when he first took over office, one of the major projects he envisioned was to give the traders a market that was it only ultramodern, but safe and secured.

He explained that the traders were formally selling in a deplorable state hence as an assembly, they embarked on this project to give the traders a better and secured facility to trade.

The MCE indicated that the sheds have smart television sets, radios, and other facilities to entertain both traders and customers.

He said when he embarks on the project, people had doubts and said there was no way the project could have been completed.

He said although the second phase has not been completed, it was prudent for them to hand over the completed phase to the traders to ease the burden they went through in selling along the road.

He disclosed that the traders who were moved out of the location were 27 in number and all of them have been allocated a shed with the remaining sheds available for other traders who will express interest.

Phase two of the project he revealed would be lockable shops that are expected to be completed before December 31, 2020.

He expressed gratitude to the sitting MP Issah Fuseini for his support in seeing to the completion of the project.

He also thanked the assembly members in the assembly for their support in seeing to the completion of phase one.

The MP on his part admonished the traders to appreciate what the government has done by retaining the NPP to do lore for them.

He said the NPP is the only party that has shown commitment in delivering on their promises.

He said if there is nothing the residents could even use to thank the NPP, they should remember he the free senior high school has benefitted their children in the constituency.

He was optimistic the ruling government would would-be retained to continue with their work.
