The Majority leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has told Parliament that the finance minister is not running away from accountability as alleged by the Minority.
He told the House that the minister needed more time to respond ro tur questions he was expected to answer especially the one on Covid-19 expenditure.
He revealed that the minister communicated with him stating that he had requested some responses from the technical team on the Covid-19 management and the answers were only brought to him on Wednesday evening, for which he would need some time to read through before appearing before Parliament.
The Minister was expected to appear on Thursday, June 16, 2022, but he did appear.
The Minority described the incident as disrespectful and an indication that he was protecting the interest of the President.
But the Majority Leader disputed the claims and asked for the meeting to be postponed to next week Wednesday.
