NPP Primaries: Kan Dapaah Jnr disqualified
The only contender who had plans to contest Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Erkuful in the Ablekuma West constituency Kan Dapaah Jnr has been disqualified.
The Greater Accra regional New Patriotic Party(NPP) secretary, Mr. Nii Odarkai Parker told Nyankonton Mu Nsem’s Fiifi Ankomah that the decision to disqualify the aspirant was based on his admission of guilt and peddling of lies against the party and the incumbent MP.
He explained that the aspirant was confronted with a video of him accusing the MP and the leadership of the party of conniving to produce a new album for the parliamentary primary.
He told our reporter the aspirant admitted he erred and asked for forgiveness.
But he was asked to write officially to the party, retract his comments.
Kan Dapaah Jnr recently described the Communication Minister as a coward for fearing contest in the upcoming ruling New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary primaries.
He cited foul play in his parliamentary bid after he was left stranded at the party’s constituency office last month when he arrived to pick up nomination forms to contest the seat.
He claimed the absence of the constituency chairman to attend to him, was part of a grand scheme by the MP who doubles as the Communications Minister to ensure that she goes unopposed in the upcoming parliamentary primaries.
But when he was confronted today with the video he said he erred and asked for forgiveness, but we have disqualified him and asked to formally apologise and retract his comments against the leadership of the party.
