Nana Addo’s replacement for sacked Tarkwa-Nsuaem MCE confirmed in second attempt
The President’s nominee of a Municipal Chief Executive for the Tarkwa- Nsuaem Municipal Assembly, Benjamin Kesse have been confirmed.
The confirmation was decided by a total of 19 votes out of 21 assembly members present at the voting center Friday morning.
Some members of the assembly, numbering twenty (20) are however challenging the outcome of the vote, as they allege the confirmation was fraught with serious illegalities.
Reporting from the centre, Rainbow Radio’s Sir Joe said the Assembly member for Tebrebe Electoral Area, said that the decision will be challenged at the Tarkwa High Court.
He said there is chaos in the community with the youth set to invade the premises of the Municipality.
The confirmed MCE who was appointed to replace the recently sacked Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Assembly failed to secure the needed votes required for him to be confirmed as the new MCE for the area few days ago.
The nominee, Benjamin Kesse, only managed to secure 22 YES votes from the 42 assembly members who voted.
Mr. Kesse was expected to secure at least 28 YES votes to meet the two-thirds majority required for him to be confirmed.
