NADMO has neglected victims of Bagre Dam spillage-Ras Mubarak

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Kumbungu Constituency, Mr Ras Mubarak has taken the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) to the cleaners accusing them of neglecting residents in his constituency who were after by the Bagre Dam spillage.

Speaking to Kwabena Agyapong on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, the legislator said not even a single sachet of water has been given to the affected residents after one month of the spillage.

Several farms along the White Volta in the Bawku West District in the Upper East Region were hit by flooding, resulting from the spillage of excess water from the Bagre Dam in Burkina Faso.

Communities downstream the White Volta have over the years been at the receiving end anytime the Burkinabe authorities spill excess water from the Bagre Dam.

Ras Mubarak in commenting on this issue it is unfortunate that residents who have been affected bt the spillage have been ignored.

”It is very sad that after a month of the incident, residents have been ignored and neglected. Unfortunately, people are calling for support but the state institution responsible for supporting people has neglected them. Not even a single sachet of water has been given to the affected victims.”
