My father was against my decision to be an actress-Jessica Williams

Ghanaian actress Jessica Williams (originally known as Joyce Williams) has disclosed on the mid-morning show on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that her father was not in favour of her being an actress.

She told host Sokoohemaa Kukua that although her father was one of Ghana’s top movie producers, Alexboat Productions, he was not in support of her being an actress.

But she defied all the odds and the rest has been history.

When asked why her father was not in support of her being an actress she said he had no reasons but I was also interested in acting.

”I don’t know what his reason was but I had the intention of being an actress when I was in school.”

She said she worked as an external auditor for a year and a half years after completing Accra Polytechnic and had to switch to acting.

However, her father vowed not to use his connections to assist her and told her to go through the processes just any other upcoming actress.

She told the host she feels proud that she struggled to the top without any influence from her father.

Jessica Williams has featured in; Prince Sam, Mysterious Girls, Mabre Agu, Lil Win and Bukom–with some of her most popular TV series appearances being The Storm, Escapade, Living With Trisha and Charade.
