Mills held firm his values, principles, honesty, simplicity & truth although he was battered & bruised- Naadu Mills

The widow of late Prof. John Evans Fiifi Atta-Mills, Ernestina Naadu Mills has asserted that the late president was humiliated despite his selflessness for the country.

She told a gathering at a public lecture held in honour of her late husband that her love for the late president became even stronger because he stood firm to his core values and never gave in to any manipulation.

“…Fiifi was often battered and bruised on the battlefield of politics but he held firm to his personal values of truth, simplicity, honesty and abiding respect for all. These were the qualities I loved about him..”

According to her, the late husband’s service to the nation was an opportunity to help change the character of Ghana’s politics for the better.

She opined that posterity will judge her late husband well for his sacrifice for his country.

The former First Lady further averred that it has been ten years of solitude since the death of the late President who was her friend, husband and confidante.

The Commemorative Lecture was on the theme “The Man John Evans Atta Mills-Ten Years On”. The Lecture was held at the Accra International Conference Centre on Tuesday, July 26, 2022.
