Menzgold not an asset company for customers to get bailout-SEC

The Securities and Exchange Commission has responded to a request by customers of defunct gold dealership company Menzgold to add them to the depositors of the collapsed financial institutions who are being paid.

SEC in its response stated that the customers of Menzgold cannot be added to the payment plan because the company is not an asset management company regulated by SEC.

SEC further disclosed the government has spent GHc18.6 billion in the financial sector clean-up in paying depositors of SDIs and MFIs.
