Mahama is a disappointment for inciting violence against EC-Lawyer
Private legal practitioner lawyer Maurice Amppaw says he is ”extremely shocked” at former President John Dramani Mahama suggesting that the compilation of the new register would lead to misunderstandings and violence.
The lawyer said, the former president has disappointed him because he least expected him to make such reckless comments.
Speaking on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he said Mr. Mahama is inciting his followers against the Electoral Commission and preparing them tot reject the results.
He asked Ghanaians to tell Mahama to the presidential seat is not his bonafide property for him to be making such reckless comments.
”Ghanaians should boldly tell Mr. Mahama that the presidential seat is not his personal property. He should have behaved like a statesman,” he added.
To him, the NDC candidate should have learnt from the late Prof. Mills who was a peace-loving man.
He opined that if it were in a serious country, he would have been dealt with per the law.
The comment by the former president is criminal and has the potential of leading to vioeelnce.
However, for the sake of political stability, let’s not go after him.
The action by Mr. Mahama he concluded may affect his chances and has, therefore, asked him to learn from the ”all be die” comments by President Akufo-Addo, who was voted against in 2012.
