I’ve not been able to breakthrough as a major musician due to lack of money-Rose Adjei
Ghanaian gospel musician Rose Adjei has told Sokoohemaa Kukua on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that she would have become a major gospel household name if not for the lack of resources to push her.
According to the musician, without enough financial support, no musician would be able to breakthrough as expected no matter the good songs released.
Rose Adjei opined this job requires a lot of money and time and if you don’t have the resources and time you cannot succeed because there are certain places when entering without money, you cannot do what you want to do.
”Considering the gift God has given me and the works I have done, I should have been a major artiste in Ghana but there is no money,” she told the host.
When asked to compare managing herself to that of a management or a label, Rose Adjei said it is far better for a musician to be in charge of her career because when managing yourself, you will not rest, the passion with which you work with is stronger.
She said a musician who manages herself puts in a lot of efforts and serious and makes you stronger.
To her, the management team of musicians do their best considering the experience she has gathered in managing herself.
Meanwhile, she has vowed not to allow her husband to manage her.
Her reasons were that the husband lacks the expertise to manage her and also, his work as an ordained man of God makes it impossible for him to manage her.
”I have told my husband several times that I would not allow him to manage me. He is aware. He is a man of God and musically inclined but he does not have the expertise to manage me. He is also a busy man of God who has to commit to work,” she added.
She said he has only asked the husband to support her with the resources and prayers.
