It’s scandalous to extend contract of the Executive Director of Complementary Education, he forged his age- MP to Prez

Dr. Clement Apaak, Deputy Ranking Member of Parliament’s Education Committee, has called Mr. Francis Asumadu’s contract extension as the Executive Director of Complementary Education, scandalous.

According to the lawmaker, the contract extension is not only scandalous but also criminal, especially since the candidate allegedly forged his age to obtain the contract extension.

He was responding to a contract extension granted to a public officer who was about to retire.

According to a letter signed by Nana Asante Bediatuo, Secretary to the President, the request for an extension was granted for two years based on the recommendation of Education Minister Yaw Osei Adutwum.

The extension will go into effect on July 4, 2022, and will expire on July 3, 2024.

The extension was then communicated to all regional directors under the complementary education agency, who were asked to inform their respective staff under the various districts.

In response to the news, the lawmaker called the contract extension “scandalous.”

He stated that anyone who allegedly lied about his age to obtain the extension should not be entertained at the office.

In a tweet he wrote “Scandalous contract extension granted Mr. Asumadu, who should have retired as Ag. Executive Director of Complementary Education has come up. Rewarding a man who allegedly forged his age and was earlier suspended for gross misconduct must not be tolerated. More soon!”
