Infrastructure is not built in the air, show evidence-NDC jabs Bawumia
The National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Parliamentary candidate for Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfro, Alexander Akuoko, has challenged Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to point to the infrastructure he claims the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has embarked on after assuming office.
The MP aspirant who was reacting Dr. Bawumia’s suggestion of the Akufo-Addo government of being the best in terms of infrastructure since the 4th republic challenged him to provide evidence to his claims.
The Vice President of the Republic, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has challenged anyone who has data to prove that any first-term government has provided more infrastructure than the Akufo-Addo administration to step up and provide the evidence.
Speaking on the sidelines of a Covid 19 meeting at the Jubilee House on Monday, 4th May, 2020, Vice President Bawumia indicated that some members of the opposition NDC, especially former President Mahama, have sought to downplay the infrastructure achievements of the Akufo-Addo administration in the vain hope that Ghanaians would not independently check.
“But I can say without any fear of contradiction, the data shows that in the history of the Fourth Republic there is no government that has provided as much infrastructure across all sectors in its first term than the first term Government of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. If you want to challenge that please bring your data” he declared.
However, the NDC in reaction said: ”infrastructure is built in the air. I challenge Dr. Bawumia to provide evidence to the claims he made. The claims are false. He should show us, we need the evidence.”
The NDC candidate said the Vice President has lost integrity and respect for being a liar.
In his view, the NPP is using for their dirty job since they know he has lost respect in the eyes of Ghanaians.
”The NPP should show us a single factory they have constructed. All the factories they inaugurated are private owned. They have nothing to show Ghanaians and yet, Dr. Bawumia keeps lying to Ghanaians.
”I will admonish Bawumia to speak to the facts. He has asked Mr. Mahama to speak to data but he is peddling lies and speaking to any data. He should save himself the embarrassment and speak to facts and data. He should show us the data on infrastructure from the NPP. Ghanaians can see what the NDC did when we were in office,” he told Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm.
