I’m yet to receive my compensation 3 years after Kotoko accident-Fmr Driver
Former Asante Kotoko bus driver, Nana Berchie has disclosed to Rainbow Sports that he was yet to be compensated three years after the team had a road crash that claimed the lives of some technical team members.
According to him, his wife has gone bankrupt because he had to depend on the wife all these years.
He has, therefore, admonished the team to do what is needful by paying what is due him.
Survival he decried has become difficult for him and his family.
Calamity befell Kumasi Asante Kotoko and the entire football fraternity in Ghana after the team bus of the Porcupine Warriors had an accident in Nkawkaw en route to Kumasi in 2017.
The accident occurred around 9:45pm at Nkawkaw, when our bus ran into a stationary vehicle on July 12, 2017.
The accident claimed the life of Kotoko’s equipment Officer, Thomas Obeng Asare, and led to various injuries sustained by players including Baba Mahama, Ahmed Adams, Ollenu Ashitey, Michael Akuffo as well as head coach at the time – Steve Pollack.
Recounting the incident, Nana Berchie said he feels sad that all the sacrifices for the team, he was yet to receive his compensation.
