The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Akuapim North Municipality, Mr. Berima Asiedu Larbi, has urged parents within the municipality to continue to be more proactive in inspiring their children to exhibit their God giving talent.
He wants parents to support their wards to nurture their talents and encouraged them to participate in extra curriculum activities in their various schools.
Speaking at the 65th Independence Day Celebration held in Tutu Akuapim on Sunday, March 6, 2022, he argued that such a move could lead to successful career paths for the children.
He stated that it was important for parents to inspire their children to fall in line with what ever activities their teachers and lecturers have laid down for their growth.
He also said it is the duty of the parent to encourage their wards to achieve their dreams despite the difficulties they may encounter.
The Education Directorate was also urged by the DCE to give proper supervision for teachers to deliver their best to ensure that the students perform well.
He also used the opportunity to admonish Ghanaians to work together to ensure that the economy grows and bounce back from the shocks of the Covid-19 outbreak.
He was optimistic Ghana has what it takes to be far from dependence and reliance on other countries.
Meanwhile the Presiding Member for Akuapim North Municipal Assembly, Mr. Asiedu Offei( No Size) made a promise to build a borehole each for all participating schools in the Municipality.
On his part, the Paramount Chief of Tutu Akuapim traditional area,which has about 90 villages under it. Nana Appiah Anti IV disclosed that he is the happiest man on earth for such a program to be held in his traditional.
According to him, seeing his people participate in the ceremony made him happy.
He sent a word of caution to all students on parade and youth in his town to be disciplined in all aspects of their lives.
He challenged parents groom their children to become responsible adults in future.
