Hearts of Oak Supporters lock up National Office

Some supporters of Accra Hearts of Oak on Wednesday besieged the club’s secretariat and locked up the edifice in protest of the club’s Board of Directors.

The aggrieved supporters said they are not happy about the mass resignation which has hit the club in recent times.

Head coach Kosta Papic and goalkeepers’ trainer, Ben Owu, left the club on Monday.

An assistant coach Asare Bediako had also resigned before the recent resignations.

The supporters were led by National Chapters Committee Chairman, Elvis Hermann Hesse.

They accused Hearts Board Chairman, Togbe Afede of running the club down.

They are therefore demanding the immediate dissolution of the board.

Addressing the media, Mt. Hesse said: “We are demanding that the club will appoint a local coach when it decides to appoint a successor to Kosta Papic.

“Over the years, we have seen management members appointing expatriates and it didn’t work so we don’t want any more of them.”

“We demand an appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer who will steer the affairs of the club because we believe it is very important in our quest to restore the club’s fortunes.

“How can a club of Hearts’ calibre go three years without an AGM? We want the leadership to call for one immediately.”
