Headteacher of St Charles Lwanga R/C Junior High School arrested

The Headteacher of St Charles Lwanga R/C Junior High School in the Saboba District of the Northern Region Jashain Emmanuel has been arrested for allegedly sending 31 pupils of the school to harvest rice from his farm.

He was arrested after he had turned himself in to the Police.

The pupils were said to have been sent to the farm of the headteacher to work.

However, the boat they were travelling in capsized.

The situation led to the death of some 10 pupils.

Nine out of the ten bodies have since been retrieved by a search party.

They were all buried at the river bank after the bodies were retrieved.

The Police have disclosed that they will arraign the suspect before a court in Tamale on Monday, November 15, 2021.

Investigations are currently ongoing, the Police has disclosed further.
