Govt behaving as if the E-Levy can cure Okudzeto Ablakwa’s baldness-Ato Forson

Parliament was thrown into a state of laughter following comments by former Deputy Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson on the E-Levy.

The former Deputy Minister who is the MP for Ajumako Enyan-Essiam while commenting on the levy said the government is behaving as if it was the cure for all diseases in Ghana.

He indicated the government is behaving as if the E-Levy was more potent than all herbal medicines in Ghana.

He mocked the government saying they are behaving as if the levy can cure most of the sicknesses affecting the economy.

Then he came to the point where he referenced the MP for North Tongu Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa saying the government was behaving as if the E-Levy could cure his baldness.

After the comments, MPs were thrown into a state of laughter.

Speaker Alban Bagbin then came in wondering why the Ato Forson did not reference his baldness nor his (Speaker).

He then asked him to end it there and continue with his submission.

Meanwhile, the Minority still remains opposed to the E-Levy.

Leader Haruna Iddrisu said they remain opposed to the levy and have rejected it.

He described it as regressive and insensitive and further asked President Akufo-Addo to withdraw it with immediate effect.
