Ga-Dangme group to hold maiden awards dinner

The Ga Adangbe Unity Organisation led by Dr. Edward Koleman has disclosed his organisation will hold the maiden edition of Youth Sports Festival, Tourism and Awards Dinner year’s awards on Saturday, October 10, 2020, at Margala Town Park.

The organisation is known for the organising award ceremonies to deserving personalities in the Ga Adangbe community who have helped in the development of the nation in all areas of the economy.

Mr. Koleman confirmed to Rainbow Radio’s Isaac Worlany Wallace that the reason behind the program is geared towards building grounds for a Ga Adamgbe man or woman to be able to take the mantle in the coming years as Ghana’s President or Vice President.

This is why we organize peace concerts during every election year and also award Ministers, Members of Parliament, and Sports Personalities in the Ga Adamgbe communities for attention to be drawn on them and also project their good works that have contributed to the development of Ghana.

He mentions that come Saturday’s award is the maiden ceremony that includes Ghana’s former captain Stephen Appiah, Shatta Wale, Azumah Nelson, Emmanuel Armah, Nii Addo Tiny etc. who have been able to project the Ga Adamgbe tribe locally and internationally in terms of music, sports and entertainment.

There is, therefore, the need to working towards leadership in the country, he said.

Mr. Koleman reaffirms that the awards that will be given would come with cash to motivate the upcoming youth to do more in their areas of expertise and also as a support to their families in these times of Covid-19 where most jobs are lost.

This maiden edition is under the theme “Fostering Peace, Unity and Justice Before, During and After the 2020 General Election and Beyond”.

The awards are under various categories; Institutional Awards ( Most Honourable MMDCs Personality of the Year, Most Honourable Personality Minister of the Year, Most Honourable Member of Parliament, etc), Media and Events, Art and Cultural Performance, Greater Accra Referee Association, Sports (football, tennis, volleyball, boxing, and netball), Fishing/ Farming and Swimming, Entertainment, Telecommunications and Banks.

The awards will be herald with card competitions in the Ga Communities which include La, Nungua, GA Mashie, Kpone and others.
