Covid-19: Hikes in prices cannot be prevented-GUTA

The Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA), says it would not be able to deal with price hikes in goods in the face of shortage due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.

Deputy Public Relations Officer (PRO), Joseph Osei Agyemang explained on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5fm that price hikes in goods and services in the face of shortage is a natural occurrence.

He was responding to the impact of the outbreak on the importation of goods into the country.

The restrictions on travel will hinder members from securing new goods to stock their shops, he lamented.

He said the travel and trade sectors have been hard hit.
