COVID-19: Foreign market in the purchase of houses has increased-Developer

Real estate developer Prof. Kofi Anokye has disclosed that the market has shot up massively especially from foreigners.

He disclosed on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that the outbreak of the coronavirus has shot up the foreign market.

Speaking to Kwabena Agyapong, the expert disclosed foreigners especially from Europe, have bought houses in Ghana because of low our cases are.

He said from the beginning of Nana Addo’s term, the market was slow, however, it has picked up as the term ends.

When asked if locals are patronising houses, he said the local market is not so high compared to the foreign market. However, the purchasing of land has also increased in the local market, he added.

”My assumption is that people want a safer place to live. The market has shot up from the foreign market. Basically, it is Europe and North America,” he noted.

”Ghanaians are buying more lands. But it comes to buying houses, the market has shot up. The local market is slow.”
