Centre for Plant Medicine recommends Prime Herbal Booster as supportive therapy for COVID-19

The Centre for Plant Medicine Research has recommended Prime Herbal Booster as use as a supportive therapy for COVID-19.

The recommendation according to the centre is based on the biological activities of the medicinal plants used in the formulation of the herbal drug.

Also, the traditional use of the plant constituents used for the formulation.

The product has passed acute toxicity and microbial load analysis, the report from the Centre added.

The product, which was produced by the Nobel Trust Herbal Centre received its Certificate of Registration from the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) on February 14, 2020 with registration number FDA/HD1.20-02097.

The medicine wAS part of 33 herbal products submitted to the centre by the Ghana Federation of Traditional Medicine Practitioners Associations (GHAFTRAM) to establish their potency for the management of the Covid-19.

Speaking to Rainbowradioonline.com, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the facility Dr. George Donkor expressed his gratitude to God and to his hardworking staff at the center.

He was optimistic when the government gives attention to traditional and herbal medicine practice, Ghana will transform and make gains in the sector.

The sector he noted have potentials and expertise to contribute to the health and wellbeing of Ghanaians.

He said herbal and traditional medicines are essential to the health sector and as a nation, we should believe in what we have, patronize and promote what we have.

The Herbal Centre was recently declared as the Best Alternative Treatment Centre for Heart Disease.

The African Business and Leadership Centre conferred the award on the centre at its recent African Business Centre Awards ceremony.
