Boy, six, drowns but father suspects foul play

Stephen Adjei, a six-year-old boy has drowned in river Torya at Fahoboyesu near Bonsu Nkwanta Juaboso District of the Western North region.

Information gathered by Rainbowradioonline.com indicates that the boy went out with a friend, Badu, to buy fish of which they had to cross the river with a wooden bridge as a walkway.

While crossing the bridge, the two slipped and fell in the river.

His friend, Badu, reportedly managed to come out of the river leaving the boy to drown.

On return home, he did not inform anybody of the incident till he was questioned and arrested before he disclosed that the boy had drowned.

The Bonsu Nkwanta police visited the scene and brought out the body of the six-year-old boy with the help of the Okyeame of Bonzain Traditional Council, Nana Kwesi who poured libation.

The body was only retrieved after he had poured the libation.

Mr. Williams Kofi Adjei, father of the deceased narrated to media that he believes Badu allegedly killed his son hence the failure on his part to report immediately he got home.

The Police have launched an investigation into the matter.

The remains of the minor have been deposited at the morgue awaiting autopsy.
