Berekum is gaining notoriety for criminal activities, we must end it-Chief

The Chief of Berekum, Nana DrAmankona Diawuo, has bemoaned the increasing rate of criminal and fraudulent activities in the community.

The Chief says the quest for quick money by the youth and the length at which they would go to get money is making the community gain notoriety for illegality.

It is for this reason he has appealed for support from his subjects to help the community gain its lost glory.

He has also hinted at plans to collaborate with the security services in the area to bring criminal activities to the lowest minimum.

According to the Chief, he would put all resources at his disposal to ensure that the community is safe for business activities and rid of suspected criminals and lawless persons giving the community a bad name.

He urged the youth in the area to avail themselves to form a watchdog committee in the area to support the Police in dealing with criminal activities such as fraud, trading of narcotics and other lawless activities.

He was speaking at a festival organized in the community recently.

Hee further advised parents to be responsible for the well-being of their wards.

He said lack of parental care could negatively influence their wards to engage in criminal activities.
