‘Mad Man’ beaten & handed over to the police in an attempted burglary

A suspected bugler who attempted stealing from the residence of former assemblyman of Adeiso Salem Electoral Area in the Upper West Akim District of the Eastern Region has been beating mercilessly and handed over to the police.

The suspect allegedly broke into the room of the former assemblyman, Mr. David Awuley, gathered a few items, and also destroyed others.

However, luck eluded him as he was caught in an attempt to escape.

Residents were however shocked as the suspect started behaving like a mentally deranged person.

But that did not deter the residents from beating him.

Rainbow Radio’s Prince Collins in a report filed on Nyankonton Mu Nsem said the suspect also physically assaulted the six-year-old daughter of the former assemblyman.

He allegedly strangled her neck and the minor could have died if not for the intervention of the residents, he added.

The reporter said the Mr. Awuley asked the residents to hand over the suspect to the police.

The police also redirected them to send him to the hospital for treatment because he was bleeding.

Meanwhile, Mr. Awuley has promised to offer assistance to have the suspect treated in a psychiatric facility if it turns out that he is indeed mentally unstable.

He also wants him to be punished for his crime.
