All set for handball association elections as NPP’s 2020 parl candidate joins race
All is set for the elections of the Ghana Handball Association Federation, Mr. Cecil Stanlet Nii Teiko Tagoe, a committee member has said.
Speaking on Rainbow Sports, he indicated that preparations were far advanced for the polls to elect new executives for the Association.
He said for the presidency, several candidates are contesting including, Edward Nii Lante Bannerman, the governing New Patriotic Party’s 2020 parliamentary elections candidate for Odododiodoo.
The other candiadtes are D. Alhaji Baba and Mr. Paul Hofi Yesu Dadzie.
The elections are slated for Saturday, September 11, 2021.
When asked if the decision by the NPP’s 2020 parliamentary candidate would not be influenced by politics, he said, ”we are not going to war. We are going into an election. This is a democracy, and every qualified person is contesting,” he added.
He said no one would be allowed to engage in lawlessness or acts that could affect the smooth organization of the polls.
He described Nii Lante Bannerman as a man who has provided several opportunities for the youth in the4 constituency.
”If people believe he is competent and qualified, we cannot prevent him from contesting,” he added.
