Akesse Brempong eulogises Danny Nartey & others

Ghanaian gospel musician Akesse Brempong says the gospel scene has transformed over the years following the hard work of the likes of Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Tagoe Sisters, Mary Ghansah, Reverend Yawson and others.

Speaking in an interview with Sokoohemaa Kukua on the mid-morning show on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he said gospel music has not had it easy but it has broken boundaries over the years.

The success of the gospel scene he opined was long coming considering the efforts by those who started, especially those in the contemporary scene.

Akesse Brempong said the late Danny Nartey was the pillar of contemporary gospel music.

According to him, the late musician should have been alive to see the success chalked over the years.

The musician said, ”in the past, we did not talk about diversity or genres in gospel music but we do so now”.
