Adwoa Safo caused her own woes but we don’t want her seat declared vacant when we’re not prepared- NPP

Theophilus Ansah Larbi, the Dome-Kwabenya constituency secretary for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has asserted that the revocation of the appointment of lawyer Sarah Adwoa Safo is unfortunate.

He started in an interview with Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that the news did not go down well with the constituents but it was bound to happen.

He believes the situation could affect the prospects of the constituency.

For this reason, he has appealed to authorities and the party to tread cautiously and deal with the matter more civilly.

He said they had had to respond to issues about the MP because she had been absent from her job.

He indicated that the President as an appointing authority knew what he saw in the dismissed minister before he gave her the job and also knew the reasons why he sacked her.

“And so if she has been sacked what do we have to say about it,” he asked.

He is also praying against the possibility of her seat being declared vacant at a time when the party was not prepared or ready for a by-election.

Theophilus Ansah Larbi said they knew things were not right and the MP could face sanctions because she failed to respond to several queries and notices sent to her to explain why she had been absent.

He added that the MP is the cause of her woes and if she had been reasonable, all these controversies would have been resolved.
