A Police officer G/Sgt Lotsu Agbeko stationed at the Formed Police Unit, Tesano, Accra, has been caught in possession of substances suspected to be narcotics.
The Police officer was allegedly transporting the substances from Have but failed to stop at Have police barrier when signalled by personnel on duty to do so.
According to details provided by the Police Service, he was driving a Blue Black Toyota Corolla S with registration number GC 1069 – 09 and carried a dried leave suspected to be Indian hemp.
The Police added that he (officer) attempted to escape but was given a hot chase by the personnel.
On reaching a section of the road on Kpeve Mountain, he was involved in an accident and had a fracture on his left hand.
The suspected 84 parcels of compressed dried leave were reportedly found in his car boot.
However, he denied ownership and was rushed to the Peki Government Hospital for treatment.
He is responding to treatment, the Police disclosed and added that an investigation is currently underway.
