An electoral officer in the ongoing polling station election by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has been admitted at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital after he was allegedly assaulted by an aggrieved aspirant who could not get access to a form.
Rainboiwradioonline.com has gathered that the incident occurred in Chorkor and New Mamprobi where some persons have been refused forms to contest the polls.
The victim whose name has only been given as Derry, an executive officer was allegedly slapped by one Reverend Nunoo, an ordained man of God.
Several others who have been refused forms alleged that they were denied the forms on purpose despite a directive from the national executive that all aspirants should be given access to the forms.
One of the aggrieved persons, Nii Addo, complained bitterly that despite his sacrifices for the party, he was denied access to the forms.
He said: ”some are struggling to work whereas others are enjoying. This is terrible and divides the party. When you complain, you are entered and treated with contempt”.
