Michael Essel-Mills, the Nhyiaeso Secretary for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), has denied claims expressing interest in contesting the National Women Organizer position in the party.
Speaking exclusively on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he denied expressing his interest in the position.
He was responding to some viral posters on social media with his photos announcing his candidacy for the position.
The poster had his photo and a motto with the inscription, “Mmaa Adwuma Emu Ede”
But reacting to the news he said “it is never true. I have not expressed interest in running for the women organizer position. I have asked people to disregard the news. It is false. I have not expressed interest in the position. As I speak to you, I am the constituency secretary for Nhyiaeso and I am only interested in ensuring that the party emerges victorious in 2024,” he said.
He described the posters as mischief being pushed by some persons to court negative reactions for him.
“Please disregard it. It is not true. Please it is also not necessary for me to respond to it. I have issued a disclaimer asking people to disregard the news”, he stressed.
