2020 polls will determine whether Ghana will move forward or remain stagnant-Minister

Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah says the 2020 polls will determine whether Ghana will move forward or remain stagnant.

He said Ghana has made a sounding recovery after President Akufo-Addo and his Vice President Dr. Mahamudu took over from the “incompetent Mahama led administration”.

He said this election is not about who can make mouth-watering promises but the one with the credibility to keep promises.

The election he said is also about the candidate with the best track record in transforming Ghana.

Speaking at a virtual really organized by the Hope Campaign group, he said the Akufo-Addo government through NABCO employed nearly 100,000 people.

He said the polls would not be about promises to young people but the track record in fulfilling promises to the youth.

The Minister and MP for Ofoase-Ayirebi said the candidate of the NDC, Mr. John Dramani Mahama lacks credibility and trust to manage Ghana.

He alleged that the former president gave Ghana’s bauxite to his brother but the NPP took it back and invested it to allow the nation benefit.

He added that the NPP is the only party that manages the economy better.

The NPP government he noted has brought interest rate down and laid a firm foundation to help businesses flourish.

He quizzed how sustainable the promises of the NDC would be compared to that of the ruling government.

“We are not just looking for a candidate who can make more promises but a candidate with a track record in transforming the lives of the youth. We are also looking for a candidate who can manage the economy far better and give the youth hope. It is only the Nana Addo led administration that has the track record to transform the lives of the youth. It is time for us to retain Nana Addo to keep on with his good works. Nana Addo is compassionate and has shown leadership in the face of the COVID-19 outbreak.”
