The Bawku Central Member of Parliament, Hon. Mahama Ayariga has been granted pardon by the Speaker of Parliament, Prof. Mike Oquaye in the bribery allegation scandal that hit the Appointments Committee.
The legislator was found guilty of contempt of Parliament following an investigation into the allegation and was asked to offer an unqualified apology.
The MP was also asked to read his written apology he addressed to the Speaker after his conditional apology last week.
The Speaker said Ayariga should "go and sin no more" but warned that if his conduct should be repeated he would have himself to blame.
The MP had alleged that the Minister of Energy, Mr. Boakye Agyarko before his approval paid a bribe to get a unanimous approval.
But after investigation was conducted, the Joe Ghartey led committee concluded that Ayariga's conduct reprehensible, and affront to Parliament and requested the Speaker to reprimand him.
