Written by  Dec 13, 2017
Morning show host for Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, Kwame Tutu has asked government to declare the sanitation situation in the country a national crisis. According to him, ‘’ the capital city, Accra smells bad. Almost every gutter, market or bus terminal is covered in filth.’’   He added, ‘’ Aban, I sincerely think today that our environmental health which has direct impact on the health, productivity and life span of citizens is extremely important than a directional app.’’   Kwame Tutu who started what he termed ‘’CITIZEN’S REPORT’’ to allow callers give a vivid picture of the communities on his show said ‘’ I therefore indulge you Mr aban to make sanitation your top most priority, declare the current situation as a national crisis and find emergency solution to it, it will be of immense good if the military is invited to help.’’       Some listeners who since Monday called into the show expressed disgust at the sanitation situation in the communities. They have therefore called on government to enforce the laws and sanction people who violate the sanitation laws.   Below is the full post on his Facebook page   A note to Ghana aban. DECLARE THE FILTHINESS OF THE COUNTRY A NATIONAL CRISIS. Hello Ghana aban, your citizens are living in an unprecedented insanitary conditions. Filth is engulfing the Nation. Everywhere one drives or walks there is garbage gathered there. The capital city, Accra smells bad. Almost every gutter, market or bus terminal is covered in filth. Aban, if you don't know I wish to inform you that over 80% of hospital admissions are as a result of poor environmental sanitation. Diseases such as malaria, dysentery, cholera, typhoid, upper respiratory infections, etc are all caused by living in dirty environment. I was among those who hailed the GhanaPost digital address application which a whooping $2.5 million dollars was used to procure. Aban, I sincerely think today that our environmental health which has direct impact on the health, productivity and life span of citizens is extremely important than a directional app. I therefore indulge you Mr aban to make sanitation your top most priority, declare the current situation as a national crisis and find emergency solution to it, it will be of immense good if the military is invited to help. Yours Spectator, Kwame Tutu, Kromoase - Asante.   Top of Form
